Why is it important to Be Active?

There is growing evidence that our daily physical activities have a large impact on how we feel, how healthy we are, and how long we will live. All physical activity—including running, biking, swimming, or even dancing, walking, or gardening—provide benefits.  

National guidelines suggest that we should get the following:

30 or more minutes of vigorous activity, at least 5 days a week
60 or more minutes of moderate activity, such as walking, at least 5 days a week
(For children and adolescents, even more activity is recommended.)

Remember that all types of physical activity can help improve your health. So join with others who participate in Health Living Rochester and choose to Be Active!
