January 10th, 2011 · No Comments

Heart disease is one of the most common problems that both men and women face. It’s actually been estimated that one in every two women will be diagnosed with heart disease at some point in their life. This particular disease is categorized by a blockage in the arteries that lead to the heart. The clogs and blockages associated with heart disease often cause chest pains and can lead to heart attacks. In some cases, strokes can also occur when a person has heart disease. But just because you’ve been diagnosed with this ever-growing problem does not mean that you shouldn’t seek treatment for it. Your first step is to find a good doctor who can educate you further on your specific diagnosis. Your next step would be taking certain measures to survive and thrive while having heart disease.

After being diagnosed with heart disease, there are certain steps you should take to ensure that you survive and thrive. For one, you should cut out all forms of tobacco use from your daily life. You will also want to maintain a healthy weight by exercising regularly and following a smart diet plan that can be set out for you by your doctor. You should also take all of your prescribed medication on a routine basis as was directed by your healthcare professional. It’s also recommended that you regularly attend cardiac rehabilitation in order to improve your way of living and your treatment outcome. Living and thriving with heart disease can be something that you or a loved one is actually able to do.
